Women in Data was created in 2015, when our founder noticed the lack of women representation as she began her journey into data. Concerned about the prospect of gender equality in a data-driven future, the first chapter of Women in Data was launched.
We have since shaped Women in Data to the global community we are today. A place for data enthusiasts of all backgrounds to connect, grow, and lead together.

Our Founder
In 2014, Sadie St Lawrence left the field of neuroscience to transition her career into data science. During this transition, she noticed the lack of diversity in the field and knew that in order to survive and thrive there needed to be a community that supported women at every stage of their career journey. While running Women in Data, Sadie went on to lead data science teams, consult for Fortune 500 companies, and train over 600,000 people in data science. Today, Sadie is fully focused on continuing to educate, inspire, and achieve gender equality in data careers.
